About No. 3

No3 was once part of The White Hart Commercial Hotel; believed to have been built in 1835. The property has recently been fully restored to include lots of modern high-end luxuries such as new kitchen with a Fohen boiling water tap (no kettle required), wine fridge and Dualit toaster. There are books, maps, games, Full Fibre WIFI and a Sky Glass television with Sky Cinema, Netflix and Disney+ to help you feel at home.

Whilst restoring No.3 we have tried to preserve as many of the original features as possible. We were even able to preserve some of the original floor tiles which are under the front doormat. The property retains its original fireplaces (unfortunately not for use). Those of you with a keen eye will also notice the recently restored gold leaf ‘BASS IN BOTTLE’  window sign which we believe to have originally dated back to 1835, when the sitting room was the hotel bar. The red triangle trade mark was the first registered trade mark in England. Outside, flagstones cover the old cellar entrance.

We understand from a local lady, who resided in the property as a child during World War two (with her grandparents), that the layout of the property has somewhat changed over the years. The Kitchen and the neighbouring property, No1, was once a Butchers. No.3 had no toilet of its own and residents would go down the street to use an outdoor toilet. Thankfully this is no longer the case. Upstairs a new shower room is completed by an indulgent Insignia steam shower cabin enabling the user sit under mood lighting and Bluetooth music into the cabin for an ultimately relaxing experience.
